Michigan says one cannot have a police scanner in a car.
It’s my car I can have what I want in it. Never been caught with a scanner in my car. If stopped I hide it.

Probably cause you will slow down, and they won’t catch you and fine you. Causing them to lose a lot of money and have themselves underfunded causing the amount of “bad guys” to raise dramatically.
P.S. I love the irony you have a police scanner, but you still get pulled over? How? Do you hear it go off and say “nah, I don’t want to slow down they can fine me for all I care?”
Amends the Michigan Penal Code to remove the prohibition of possessing a police scanner in a vehicle. Possession of a police scanner is now prohibited regardless of location by certain felons and in the commission of a crime, but allowed under other circumstances.
If you aren’t a convicted felon or committing a crime then you are ok to have a scanner in your car as of May 31, 2006.
If you have no criminal history or are a first responder or reporter or the like you can have one in most states. I’d recheck the law you are looking at. The reason there are laws against it is because they do not wnat the person interested in breaking into a house or something being able to monitor the police, wait for them all to be tied up on a big accident and make their move knowing that all the cops are busy or a good istance away.
well go you guess you can carry crank too since its yer car n all why do what the law says right.
Good luck with that.
Cops NEVER find things people hide in their cars. It’s SURE to work!
I don’t suggest having one in your car. You can get arrested for that.
